Where Innovators and Entrepreneurs Collaborate
Welcome to the Innovation Center at Granite School
A Storied Past, A Thriving Future
The Granite Grammar School, built in 1915, has long been a cornerstone of Folsom’s history. Designed by George C. Sellon, the architect behind Sacramento’s first skyscraper, the school’s Spanish-style architecture and innovative “E-shape” layout were ahead of their time, optimizing lighting and ventilation for students and teachers alike.
Located at 909 Mormon Street in Folsom’s charming Historic District, Granite School replaced earlier one-room wood-frame and brick schoolhouses dating back to the mid-19th century. Though it closed in 1966 due to updated earthquake safety standards, its legacy lives on.
In 2021, Granite School was purchased by FEDCorp and carefully reimagined into what is now the Innovation Center at Granite School, a state-of-the-art co-working and collaboration space for entrepreneurs, startups, and community leaders.
